I own the Gabelli asset fund (GABAX). It has more than doubled in the past 4 years. It has averaged 14.35% per year since 1986. I like this fund because it has high returns with a low beta.
I’m sure there are safer funds and more aggressive funds but GABAX is right for me.

No one knows. No one. Period.
The best thing you can do is keep your costs low and diversify according to your risk tolerance.
Would you be OK with losing 50% of your money? How about 25%?
Mutual funds go up and down. What is your time horizon? Can you leave your investments alone for 10, 20, 30 years?
